Collaborative development of new interactive game aims to disrupt lottery sector and provide further funds to good causes.
As the digital gaming market in Brazil continues to accelerate Betsul and Vibra Gaming are seeing the first results of their jointly developed ‘Scratch-a-lot’ product, one of the most disruptive lottery games of recent times.
The partnership between lottery and sports betting site Betsul and leading games developer Vibra Gaming has strengthened in recent months with both companies creating the new and innovative instant lottery concept ‘Scratch-a-lot’.
Based on the lottery vertical created by the Brazilian federal government and granted to the private sector in 2019, the product aims to make ‘Scratchcards’ more interactive and inclusive as part of a broader, digital lottery and gaming experience. This is due not only to the creativity of the teams involved in the project, but also to the advancement of new technologies.
At first glance ‘Scratch-a-lot’ appears to be a traditional casino game, however, this is a completely new approach to the instant lottery vertical with the potential to revolutionize the market, opening a new window of opportunity for games developers and lottery operators.
All the technology developed fits within the international standard for instant lottery certification GLI 14 – Finite Scratch Ticket and Pull-Tab Systems. To ensure the game meets with local regulations Vibra Gaming achieved GLI 14 standard certification (instant lottery/finite scratch ticket) in partnership with GLI, an internationally recognised game certification laboratory.
The development of Scratch-a-lot is aligned with Vibra’s approach to content and the important role it is playing in bridging the gap between traditional games that local players have become familiar with over many years and the latest digital products from international brands, a strategy that is proving highly successful across LatAm.
Ramiro Atucha, CEO of Vibra Gaming, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the gaming sector, said: “After an extensive period of market research and product development, we were privileged to be able to cooperate with one of our main customers, Betsul, to bring a unique product to the lottery market. The launch has been different from anything we have ever done and we are seeing some very positive initial results that give us great confidence for future growth.”
Karen Sierra-Hughes, Vice President Latin America & Caribbean at GLI, said: “We take great pride in working with the Vibra Gaming team for several years, and admire their creativity, professionalism, and dedication.
“We celebrate that a Latin American company, such as Vibra Gaming, is thriving with continuous new developments. In this case, supporting our lottery industry that is aiming to modernise their operations to generate more revenue for social causes.
“This is precisely one of the purposes of the GLI Standards; to promote innovation while maintaining the integrity, security and fairness of the game.”
The Betsul-Vibra Gaming launch of this new type of instant lottery game has been pioneering in the gaming market.
Atucha adds: “Lotteries in Brazil, and around the world, have needed to reinvent themselves for a long time. The regulatory period Brazil is undergoing is unique, both at federal and state levels and this was the ideal time to bring such a product to market.”
